ULTRASOUND GUIDED GLENOHUMERAL JOINT INJECTION: The injection of the glenohumeral joint under ultrasound guidance is used to treat pain most commonly related to inflammation and/or arthritis of the joint. Ultrasound is a safe convenient way to visualize the joint and ensure accuracy with the injection. The skin will be cleansed with antimicrobial solution and a needle will be inserted into the joint under live ultrasound guidance. Injection of solution containing corticosteroid and anesthetic will then be performed.
