INTERCOASTAL NERVE INJECTION: The injection of the intercostal nerves under ultrasound guidance is used to treat pain related to irritation of the nerve below the ribs. Ultrasound is a safe convenient way to visualize the joint and ensure accuracy with the injection. The skin will be cleansed with antimicrobial solution and a needle will be inserted into the space under live ultrasound guidance. Injection of solution containing corticosteroid and anesthetic will then be performed.
